I’m a big fan of your recipes. Your tipps help me to improve my experiences in glutenfree baking.
When I prepare a cake with a short crust, f.e. with a poppyseed-filling, after baking and cooling the cake is perfect, but at the outside it’s so hard, that I can barely cut it.
Before I adjusted my recipe it was too crumbly. What can I now do, to make the dough a little bit smoother?

Thanks for your help 🙂

Margie

Comment on Vegan Butter Substitute by Craig https://www.forkandbeans.com/2015/07/11/vegan-butter-substitute/#comment-380678 Wed, 08 Jan 2020 13:30:47 +0000 http://www.forkandbeans.com/?p=14691#comment-380678 Hi Cara,

I searched for vegan butter substitute and it took me to your page; what I’m actually looking for is a substitute for vegan butter, something plant based but not with saturated fat levels that blow even butter out of the water. Do you have a recipe for anything like that, or am I just getting my hopes up too high? This would be primarily for baking and not for use as a spread.

I grew up in Long Island Sound, so grew up with only the best chowders. However, I have been vegetarian for 42 years, and living in the Midwest for 30 of those years.
I have MISSED (good) chowder SO MUCH.
My husband made your recipe today and IT IS. AMAZING.
